Aliyah Hussain is a visual artist who set up a jewellery design studio in 2016. Working predominantly with ceramics; adapting and using techniques and processes typically found in traditional ceramics, she makes abstract, playful, sculptural work for the body with a focus on line, form and colour.? Informed by her visual arts practice her jewellery is viewed as an expanded drawing practice as all pieces are made using coils as a starting point which lends flow and movement to the pieces.
Her work is stocked in galleries and shops nationally and internationally including, Manchester Museum, CCA in Glasgow, Colours May Vary in Leeds and Tictail store in New York. In 2017 she was awarded as the “One to Watch” by the Crafts Council at The National festival of making.
