// 15 November:?TONIGHT.?Preview for?The Ground Beneath Your Feet?at Castlefield Gallery, a group show including?Mill artist?Jane Lawson.?Part of?With One Voice International Arts and Homelessness Summit & Festival, international artists use film, sculpture, currency and fungi to tackle contemporary political unrest.
// 15 November:?TONIGHT?8 till late at?White Hotel,?DRIFT?is an immersive experience, part-club / part-installation. Motion and sound sensors detect audience activity producing unique responsive audio-visuals and a gradually escalating user-produced environment. Soundtrack from KYOKA and Grischa Lichtenberger of German electronic label Raster. Totally unique experience for Salford, building on an original 2014 commission for the British Science Festival.
// 21 November?is the next open session with?Islington Mill Art Academy,?our free peer-led art school. Each fortnight the Academy hosts a public session with a potluck dinner. Sessions are free to attend and a great way to find out what the Academy is about,?read more here.
// 29 November:?Cinema Paradiso?at?Paradise Works?is a night of?expanded film, video and experimental sound performances to launch?HOME’s Artist Film Weekender 2018.?impaTV?join artist Andrew James Brooks?for new collaborative work alongside a roster of local and international artists.
// 1 December:?Artist tour and talk with?Emma Talbot at Caustic Coastal. The artist takes us on tour of her current collection of new work across all spaces at Caustic. The final day of?’21st Century Sleepwalk’?and an ideal chance for some conversation and context.
// 2 December:?7 Spot Pottery Christmas Market.?7 Spot?are our first floor ceramic studio who make beautiful idiosyncratic art and also teach beginner and ongoing ceramic skills to dozens of students each year. This open-studio market event will sell work from the 10 artists based there with a range of unique homewares, jewellery and sculpture for sale. Keep it local and hand-made for Christmas 2018!
// 6 December:?Speaking of Xmas shopping, this year?Xmas at the Mill?relocates to a bigger ‘n’ badder venue at neighbouring Unit 4, Regents Trading Estate. That means more gifts and stalls than ever. PLUS we’re excited announce we are partnering wIth the mighty?GRUB?to provide the food and drink treats for this festive event. Confirmed so far we have Korean street food from?Geordie Soul, sweet treats from?Old Town Chimney Cake Bakery,?pizza party?with Dough N Co, a pop-up bar serving keg beer and all things mulled, plus more tba! Stay tuned and arrive hungry!
